Beth has over 30 years of nursing experience and received her Bachelor’s Degree in the Science of Nursing from Grand Valley State University. Beth has completed several graduate level courses in the Grand Valley Masters in Nursing Program. Beth is a Certified Case Manager and a Registered Nurse. She also has an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) specialty certification in psychiatric nursing (BC).
Beth’s first nursing position was at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1978 she returned to West Michigan, accepting a job at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. Beth has extensive background in a variety of medical specialties. She has experience working in Orthopedics, Intensive Care, Coronary Care, and was the Supervisor for the Emergency Department at St. Mary’s Hospital. She worked as a Disability Nurse Case Manager for Aetna Insurance, just prior to joining PCM. Beth has extensive experience in Psychiatric Nursing. She has worked as an inpatient psychiatric nurse with adolescents and adults, a community psychiatric nurse with chronic mentally ill adults, and was a nurse case manager at St. Mary’s Psychiatric-Medical Unit. In addition, Beth has worked as a Nurse Consultant with spinal cord injured, brain injured and persons with strokes.
In January of 2003, Beth joined the medical case management team at Preferred Case Management, LLC. Beth manages cases primarily in the Western Michigan area.
